The Emergency Committee of continent’s football governing body, Confederation of African Football (CAF) will hold a meeting in Lagos this Saturday, 14th October 2017.
According to CAF top official who confirmed to thenff.com, the meeting which will hold in Ikoyi, would deliberate on recent occurrences the African game .
It is as well meant to exchange ideas on CAF upcoming competitions, particularly next year’s African Nations Championship (CHAN), which hosting right has been withdrawn from Kenya.
CAF is yet to decide and announce the next host for CHAN 2018 which is scheduled for early next year.
The CAF Emergency Committee, which is chaired by CAF President Ahmad, also has the three Vice Presidents of CAF as Members, as well as the NFF President Amaju Pinnick.
Others are Liberia FA President Hassan Musa Bility and CAF Referees Committee head, Souleiman Hassan Waberi.
All are also members of the CAF Executive Committee.
CAF’s three Vice Presidents are Ghana’s Kwesi Nyantakyi (1st Vice President), Democratic Republic of Congo’s Omari Constant Selemani (2nd Vice President) and Morocco’s Fouzi Lekjaa (3rd Vice President).
CAF Powerful Entourage May Watch AITEO Cup Final In Agege
The meeting comes up on the eve of the grand finale of the AITEO Cup competition, taking place at the Agege Stadium on Sunday, 15th October.
All members of the CAF Emergency Committee have been invited for the Lagos final.
Sources have also confirmed that Egypt’s Hani Abo Rida, who is a Member of the FIFA Council, will be part of CAF President Ahmad’s train to Nigeria’s commercial capital.
Pinnick will personally receive CAF scribe Ahmad at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMA), Lagos on Friday, 13th October – the same day other members of the Emergency Committee will arrive in Nigeria.
Furthermore, it was gathered that ‘An Evening With Ahmad’ planned for the night of Saturday 14th is on the cards.
