The governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode has call on all Local Government Chairmen in the State to include the elderly people in their 2018 budget

Ambode made this known while responding to questions by Lagosians at the 4th quarter 2017 town hall meeting at Subeb Proposed Permanent site ,Emmanuel high street off Ogudu Road,Ojota ,Kosofe, Lagos

PROVISION FOR THE AGED ONES IN THE SOCIETY

The Governor says: “Local government must rise up and create better things for our elderly ones

“Part of your next year budget must include them, don’t forget they are the ones praying for us

“Once we see the proposal, we will accept it.”

Further more, the governor notes that centres must be created in each Local Government for the elderly ones for them to network.

Governor Ambode has also charge all traditional rulers to support the neighbourhood safety corp

Akinwunmi further states that this step will help to minimize to the barest, the crimes rate, especially during the ember month

“I want you to know that this is October and the ember month

“Somehow, traditionally, crime rate will increase during this period

“I want to appeal to all our traditional rulers that there is need for us to support the neighbourhood safety corp

“We need to be more vigilant and corporate with our security agencies.”he explains.

Similarly, Ambode also states that he is ready to reduce crime rate to the barest minimum

Also, he affirmed is readiness to engage a lot of our youths to continue to build Lagos

Reiterating that his administration is also ready to fight drug abuse in the state

Governor states: “We employ all our NGOS and civil society to increase their awareness about drug abuse in the country

“I am also in the forefront of fighting sexual abuse, drugs and domestic violence in the state

“I will not relent in fighting this menace in the society

“We should all support the measures we choose to reduce crime rate in the city.”

Ambode says: “The programme is designed for everybody in the society

“Nobody should be discriminated because of their age.”

Finally, Ambode while appreciates all regular tax payers in the country, he also call on other taxable adults to pay their taxes so that social amenities can be provided
